Katharine Davis, PhD, LPC-S
Dr. Katharine Davis is the owner of Southlake Child and Family Therapy, where she works with children, adolescents, emerging adults, and families throughout the DFW area. She is known for her warm, collaborative approach and her ability to help clients identify their strengths, navigate transitions, and create meaningful change.
A Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas, Dr. Davis is certified in Clinical Hypnosis and serves as an Approved Consultant in hypnosis supervision through the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She has worked with children and families across a variety of settings, including psychiatric hospitals, community agencies, private practices, schools, and athletic performance programs. Her experience includes work with organizations such as Cook Children's, The Art Station, ACH Child and Family Services, and other child and family-focused programs throughout North Texas.
Dr. Davis specializes in solution-focused brief therapy, developmental trauma, mindfulness, clinical hypnosis, and parent consultation. Her work is grounded in a systemic perspective, recognizing that growth happens within the context of relationships, families, schools, communities, and other important environments. This broader lens helps clients and families build on existing abilities, recognize patterns that support growth, and create changes that feel both meaningful and sustainable.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Davis teaches in the counseling program at Texas Christian University and provides supervision for counseling associates. She is actively involved in advancing the counseling profession through leadership, training, and mentorship, serving on the boards of both the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Association and the North Texas Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
